Daily Inspiration - Aug 12

The wise old man told his son, beware of false prophets. Stay away from liars and cheaters, but does the son listen?

Every day we make choices. What to do, where to go, who to trust; these choices determine our path. Being cautious is wise.

The wise old man knew a little something. Probably he had experienced hurt, anguish, or pain over someone. Life's lessons are often taught through our discomfort. In our brokenness, we learn a great deal.

There are mentors along the path. Pay attention. Watch and learn. These wise and experienced teachers give some useful advice. They walked the path before, they know the dangers.

Do you think the wise old man told his son to be foolish?

Would he advise him to get caught up with the wrong crowd? Of course not. However today's youth show a lot of foolishness. Where are their teachers, their mentors, their wise old men?

Being a mentor is a big responsibility.

Choosing a path of righteousness leads to blessings.

If you had the opportunity, would you be a mentor? What have you experienced in life that would help another?

Proverbs 10:4 says "Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth."

Aim to serve, for in the end, your reward will be great.

  1. it's true, we learn best from our mistakes, but those who are older are much wiser. That is why the Lord commanded us to obey our Father and Mother. And i agree...these days, the world has changed from being mature to immaturity all over.
