Daily Inspiration - Aug 13

Sometimes there is a hidden gem amongst the rubble. Behind the dirt, stuck in the mud, a lasting jewel sparkles.

If we fail to see it, we may miss out on a fantastic opportunity. Are you looking in the eye of a mud pit? Perhaps, the dirt is covering up the most precious stone in your life. Left unturned, the jewel awaits.

What if you could see past the all the muck and dust? What if you saw  beneath the dark pain of misunderstandings and lost passions? What if the jewel sparkled just a bit?

You would start digging. It didn't matter if you got your fingernails dirty. It wouldn't matter if the mud splashed onto your new outfit. No, because you knew there was a jewel waiting for you, and if you could dig it up, perhaps you would find a treasure.

Maybe there would be more jewels. Precious sapphires, glistening diamonds, the finest of pearls, your imagination runs wild.

The thought of it makes your fingers tingle. You dig deep. There it is, sparkling and twinkling, in all its glory. The jewel that will make you rich. You look closer. How much is it worth?

Your thoughts venture into a wild imagination. 'I'll take it to the jeweler down the street. They will know the value,' you tell yourself.

Sounds like a rich story. Finding a treasure that could change your life. Well there is such a story. It lies beneath all the muck and dirt of your life. Under the covers of sin and anguish, there lies the biggest treasure you could find.

This jewel is easy to find and it sparkles at midnight. It inspires the sun. For the jewel you may be seeking has already been found.  At the cross, he calls your name. He knows your heart. He breathes new life. The blessings have been prepared, especially for you. God doesn't grant wishes but He can make your dreams come true. His love is more precious than gold, finer than silver, and the chest of His love is unfolding.

There is a treasure chest waiting for you. Close your eyes. Do you see it? Over there, under the tree, shaped as a cross. It has a glow around it.

The chest of jewels is there. All you have to do is step over and open it.
