Daily Inspiration - Sept 14

I read an article today about mental exhaustion. Have you ever experienced this?

Moments in your life when your mental or emotional condition is so frail that you wondered if you were going to lose it?

Sometimes when you're experiencing difficulties in life, it seems the rain keeps falling. One thing after another and all of sudden there is chaos surrounding you.

Can you relate to this? I know of someone who lost her job 3 weeks after her mom's death. In that same year, her son moved away and many of her closest friends just stopped calling. Later that year, her financial troubles took a terrible tumble. Then her husband suffered back problems and faced surgury. With no health insurance, no job, little support from family, she was facing a crisis.

Many times when trouble hits, it comes in bunches. Feelings of insecurity, fear, anger and an overwhelming sense of loss can send people to a mental breakdown.

What do you do? Who do you call? When life throws those big punches and you're smacked right in the face, do you get back up again? Would you prefer to stay down in the trenches waiting for it to pass?

Wisdom comes from the fact, you cannot do it alone. Understanding enters the picture when you turn it all over to Jesus. Lay those burdens down at his feet. God doesn't want you to feel burdened with these things.

The Bible says,"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-29

When the flash pan of disaster strikes, look to the Heavens for answers. Ask God to carry you through this time. Then rely on Him to do the work for you.

For the Bible says,"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."
