Daily Inspiration - Aug 19

Happy Friday!!  The end of another week.

Today I want to take a moment and share a personal story. It is my anniversary. Married to the same man for 33 years today.

Although we've had our ups and downs, and there were a lot of downs I might add, we survived. We have 2 adult children and 4 grandchildren. When I look back over the years, I see how much love we impressed our children. When our lives were struggling, we put aside our faults to make sure our children had a stable home. I'm not saying this was easy. It comes with great sacrifice but in the end, my children are now influencing their children to be responsible and loving people.

It takes great wisdom to survive what the enemy has in store for you. It takes great faith in a glorious God to remove the stings of life. For the enemy wants to destroy marriages. He will stop at nothing to get his way. The enemy will confront you with doubts, temptations, and lusts when you are ripe for the taking. Don't listen to his lies. For Satan is a liar. He is a destroyer and everything he sets out to do is to wreck your marriage. I've learned that if I place all my trust in God, in the wholesome love of his heart, that I can walk this path of marriage in safety.

When two people join hands in marriage, they join their hearts. It is essential to invite God as the third person in that marriage. Above the children, above the in-laws, above the finances, above all else, God must be included. This is the only way a marriage will survive in these troubling times.

For today, I speak about marriage. I wanted to give a little wisdom to those just starting out in their marriage. The "babies" of love. For your love is about to take a great adventure. A place of highs and lows, a place of happiness and stress. Always put God firstplace in your marriage and He will lead you out from the storms. He will turn your mourning into dancing. He will shine his heavenly glory across the oceans to stand by your side. Just invite Him in.

Father, I thank you for my wonderful husband. I thank you for blessing me with wisdom and courage. Bless my family. Watch over and protect them. Pour out your love over my marriage. In your heavenly presence I stand before you, as your child, with arms wide open. Ready to recieve your blessing. In His name, Jesus, Amen.

May you have a blessed day!
