"God's wisdom will lead us to decisions that develop and encourage mercy toward others and all the good fruits of the Spirit of God within us." - Mary Whelchel, Christian Working Womam
You weigh all the options, list the pros and cons, then thoughtfully make your decision. So how do you know whether it was the right decision? How do you sense whether a decision you're facing will produce the right result?
Weighing the options
If you're concerned you made the wrong decision, you may want to change it. If you have second thoughts, pray over it. Discernment is a tricky thing. Feelings can overtake emotions and you begin to question yourself.
Over prayerful guidance, you can discern whether the decision was the right one. Talk to your pastor, your closest friends, and read through the scriptures for guidance. Ask God to reveal to you whether it was right. Not every doubt is from God. Many times, the enemy will use your greatest fears to condemn you.
Remember God is not the liar. He only shows light in truth. He will not condemn you. He corrects with conviction, moments in the heart of whispers to discipline. If you fail to hear that still small voice, He will give you a second chance. The next time it will be louder.
Only by knowing God's word will you be able to accurately discern your decisions. Spend time studying God's word and you'll understand His nature.
