Yet we can't help but struggle. If God's has good intentions for us, why do we find ourselves in a mess sometimes. After all, God is perfect, He makes no mistakes so why do we end up in such a struggle? These are hard questions to ask ourselves.
Are we putting God on notice? Are we demanding Him to "show up" and make the necessary changes so our lives will run perfectly smooth?
Moses felt that same way when God asked him to face the Pharaoh and demand him to let his people go free. Moses didn't feel equipped to handle such a big task.
He asked God, who am I to do such a task? God responded to Moses.
In Exodus 3:12-14 it says, "And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is
I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you
will worship God on this mountain.” 13 Moses said to God,
“Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has
sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell
them?”
14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to
say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
If you're looking at yourself and asking "Who am
I?", then perhaps you'll need to change your focus. Ask instead, "God, will you be with
me?"
Mary Whelchel, the Christian Working Woman said, "It's good to be humble, but
when we focus on ourselves instead of on God, then that's not real humility;
that's lack of faith and doubting and fear."
