Daily Inspiration - Aug 27

This weekend we are fighting against a storm. Hurricane Irene is assaulting the east coast shores. All events in the effected areas are postponed or cancelled.

The Martin Luther King Jr Memorial is one of those events. Thousands were expected in DC for the official unveiling of the "Stone of Hope" statue.

As the coastal towns wait it out, the Martin Luther King memorial will have to wait as well.

Yet his legacy still lives on. He stood the battlefield against hatred and bigotry. He fought for freedom. He stood against the storms. His statue stands tall.

Here's another of my favorite Dr. King quotes:

"Only in the darkness can you see the stars." — Martin Luther King Jr.

That quote says it all. When Hurricane Irene passes, the sun will come out. It will be a new day with a new beginning to start again.
