Thought for the day - May 30 Faith

Remember Psalm 23, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters, he restores my soul."

It captures the essence of a soul crying out to Jesus. The words from this famous Psalm is read at many funerals. It promises peace to the broken hearted. In grief, many hearts are empty but God tells us there is no reason to feel alone. He reminds us that He is still near. He brings strength to the weary, He restores the soul.

So today if you are feeling the sadness of loss. Remember God is still there in the midst of your pain and sorrow.

On this Memorial Day as the nation remembers our fallen heroes, say a prayer. Remember the price they paid for our freedom. The heavy cost of being free, the sorrows we face are common. We are all united in pain, in loss and in life.

Faith speaks to our hearts when we are hurting the most. Faith tells us to never give up. It gives hope. It gives life. It is not without sacrifice, but Faith is something that can never be taken away.
