Waiting is the Hardest Part While Seasons Change

People say…We’re building character, strengthening our walk, as we’re waiting. While we can’t force things to happen, we learn by waiting, in faith, for we know all good things, come to pass for those who trust in their dream.

I’ve learned many things during those periods of waiting. Lessons in life that taught me wisdom during those days when nothing else seemed to happen. Waiting to find a new job, waiting for a paycheck, or waiting for things to turn around, there are seasons in life when waiting is all we can do.

What do you do while you wait? You keep moving. Waiting doesn’t mean stopping. Things may not happen as quickly as you like, but eventually things do change. We live in seasons. There are times of gratitude and blessings. There are times of difficulty and anguish. These are the seasons of life.

I love the song by The Shirelles, “Mama said there’d be days like this, There’ll be days like this, my mama said.” It’s true. In life, there will be those days you wished you had stayed in bed. But time keeps moving.

Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.”

We may wish our circumstances change, we may want to run and hide, and we may even desire something dramatic to happen. All of the events that happen in life are teachable moments.

Whether we are waiting or not, we are moving towards our purpose, our place in the sun.

When we feel stuck and it appears things are not getting better, just hold on…give it another day. Light penetrates darkness and the dawn births the sun for a brand new day.

These are the moments when the breaking dawn shines into the window of our souls.

We wake up to a new day and the sunlight hurts our eyes.

It’s in these waking hours, we hold on to the promise of our dream.

Seasons change and we recognize it’s going to be a lovely day.
